Duct Sealing Services from Portland Throughout the Columbia River Gorge
At A&E Plumbing, Heating and Air, we seal ductwork from the inside using Aeroseal technology—so your HVAC system delivers air where you actually need it.

What Is Duct Sealing (and Why Does It Matter)?
Duct sealing is the process of locating and closing leaks in your home’s ductwork. While traditional sealing methods involve taping or mastic from the outside, we use Aeroseal, a proven, high-performance solution that works from inside your ducts.
What Duct Sealing Does
Duct sealing closes gaps and cracks in your home’s ductwork that let air escape. We use Aeroseal, a high-tech method that seals leaks from the inside—without cutting into walls or ceilings.
Why Leaky Ducts Are a Problem
When ducts leak, air escapes into crawlspaces, attics, or walls—leading to uneven temps, poor airflow, and higher utility bills. It also pulls in dust, allergens, and insulation.
Signs It's Time for Duct Sealing
Hot or cold spots in certain rooms. Rising energy costs. A system that never seems to stop running. If that sounds familiar, your ductwork may be the issue. Sealing can fix it.
How Aeroseal Works: Our Sealing Process
Aeroseal allows us to seal your ducts without opening walls or ripping into ceilings. It’s clean, quiet, and highly effective. Most homes we service see a 90%+ reduction in duct leakage—often going from 30% leakage down to under 5%.
1. Pre-Test & Prep
We start by blocking off your vents and running a detailed system test to measure exactly how much air is escaping through leaks in your ductwork.
2. Sealing Process
The Aeroseal machine mists non-toxic, water-based particles into the duct system. These particles naturally find leaks and build up at each gap or hole—sealing cracks up to ⅝ inch wide.
3. Post-Test & Proof
After sealing, we test again and provide a printed report showing before-and-after leakage rates, so you can see exactly how much your system improved.
Duct Sealing Cost
We charge a flat rate of $4,200 per system (not including tax). Our services include:
Full duct sealing with Aeroseal
Pre- and post-leakage testing
Printed results for your records
All labor and sealing materials
Bundle and Save: Duct Cleaning + Sealing
For best results, your ductwork should be clean before sealing. That’s why many homeowners choose to bundle both services. If you have a duct cleaning done within 90 days of sealing, we’ll credit the cost of cleaning toward the sealing service.
